Hair...
You know, for most people, both Men and Women, hair is grown on our heads, arms and legs, and yes, "down there." It's 'normal.' As a male, I'm no different. Check, check, and check. All good. For us guys, our face, neck, and chest are included. And for some 'Freak-a-Zoid's,' they have hair on their backs.
Razor's... Whether with a razor blade, or with an electric razor, most Men shave their facial hair and most Women shave their legs. It has become popular in recent years for Men to shave their heads as well. And then, there are the Body Builders: they shave most everything!!! But, that's another story.
My "Little Bride" has made a career out of cutting, coloring, and shaping hair. I think she has been doing it for 38 years. Holy Smokes!!! That's a lot of hair through the years.
Now, as we male's age a bit, and me in particular, our hair certainly thins out. At age 57, I've lost most of my leg hair. And although I choose to wear my 'head' hair short these days, it is absolutely thinning in places and, unfortunately, losing its original color, as you can see below. Sigh!!!
I'm down with all the above. However, I am NOT down with HAIR that grows "In ALL the Wrong Places." Ahhhhhhhhh, what 'Places' you ask??? With most Men, myself included, as we age, we begin to have hair that grows, at least on a thicker scale, in our nostrils, and from the inside out and on the outside of our ears. And I happen to have what I would call a 'crazy' strand of hair, or two, or three that grows straight up on the back of my shoulder. For me, these are my 3 newish areas of concern and major "Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" factor!!! And then, add to my HORROR that when I put on my 'readers,' I can see them ALL as if they are magnified to what seems like 1,000 times. OK... Freakin' Yikes!!!
Nostril Hair: At a younger age, Nostril Hair is common. It even acts as a 'Filter,' if you will, while breathing in and out. But, in older Men, that fine like filter becomes an overgrown and ever growing forest of thick branches of graying hair, as if they are on steroids. My very first District Chief in HFD had, what appeared to be, a 'wire brush' coming out of his nose when I first met him. I am in no way there, but I can see where, if I don't stay on top of this, bad things could be in my future. I seem to be 'on my way.' Scissors!!!
Ear Hair: Freakin' Ear Hair, for cryin' out loud!!! With no rhyme or reason. Hair grows from the ear canal out. Hair grows randomly along the outer edge of my ears. The left ear will have hair here and the right ear will have hair there. It is absolutely insane. Scissors!!!
Shoulder Hair: These are a puzzle to me. It's seriously as if an "Explorer Hair" Dad surveyed the landscape of my entire body and while walking along the top of my shoulder area, said to his family of 3: "I think we will live here." And that's exactly where he pitched his tent, so to speak. And, they are healthy and firm hair, always trying to stand at attention. Go figure... Scissors!!!
But, In This Space, You Will Not See Pictures Of My:
Nostril Hair
Ear Hair
OR
OR
Shoulder Hair!!!
However, I will show you...
Generally Known as "Mans Best Friend"
Well, As You Get Older, These Are An Aging Mans Best Friend(s):
And yes, this is, sadly, what 'things' have come to: I am always on the lookout for HAIR "In All the Wrong Places." At this stage, I suppose as long as I keep breathing, I'll keep 'trimming.' Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
Takin' It "To the House"
Houston Texans Football: WOW!!! is an understatement... This is hard!!!
Market Watch: All smiles this week from Wall Street. The Dow climbed back up to a very respectable 15,509 at the close yesterday. Facebook... Moving higher and higher, closing yesterday at 52.44...
Music: Well, it's the week before Halloween and that means I get to play my annual Halloween Tune. The Classics IV with Spooky. Enjoy... (source)
The End: So appreciate you stopping by. Always brings a Smile. Hope to see ya back next week. Til then...
Be safe, be smart, and always show your Smile... It's "Happy Friday"
adios... vaya con dios
Have you seen those handy, dandy grooming kits with attachments that are made for removing ear and nose hairs? That shoulder hair though is downright spooky!!!!
ReplyDeleteDebster... LOL!!! I hear ya. Thanks for coming over, Slu
DeleteThis video is absolutely crazy/insane/mad and I loved it. Someone must have been on the booze when they wrote this with video included, ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteOh Slu, growing hair on your shoulders now? Remember you called them 'Freak-a-Zoids. Now you got me laughing again. Donna's got her work cut out now. Scissors won't cut it. You need one of those laser treatment things, or hair removal cream things that you see on the TV adverts. Donna will have the heads-up on this sort of thing as she works in that area.
Now, this would make a good ''Creation" debate. Are all of us going back to the monkey state? Are we all starting to at last evolve into something else? I wonder what you'll be next Slu :) And what a sleek looking photo of yourself too, and your dog always looks wonderful.
Man, did you give me a good laugh over here. Happy weekend to you and let me know if anything drastic changes...
RPD... So glad you stopped by. Glad you got a laugh in this morning. Makes my day, Slu

The older we get the more we have to deal with. Our sight starts to go, so does the teeth, and hearing. Many older people get liver spots. As they said, it isn't a picnic. If we can get up every morning and make it through the day, then life is good. Love cuz
ReplyDeleteYour right Cuz... Thanks for stopping by, cuz
ReplyDeleteOMG you cracked me up with this post! The Hubs complains about the weird places his hair is growing now all the time! I keep teasing him about the shoulder & back hair coming in. I told him it's all the beer he drinks....
ReplyDeleteHA!!! I think from this point on... It's a never ending ordeal.
DeleteThanks for the visit, Slu
happens to all of us, not just you guys. And I can always see my "where the hell did you come from and why won't you just go back there and leave me alone" hairs when I am in the bathroom at work. Something about the lighting...
ReplyDeleteHA... The lighting!!! That's it!!! lol I'm down with that. At any rate: "They" got us...
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Slu
That can be scary, as can hair falling too! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNah.... It was all in good fun. No Biggie (as long as I have a pair of scissors).
DeleteThanks for the visit. Always nice to see your name & comment, Slu
Your shoulder hair are referred to as "scouts". You have to employ the "seek and destroy" method in dealing with these lol.
ReplyDeleteHa... Very nice to see you on here!!! lol Slu
