Back in the groove this week after spending last week in Brooklyn, New York, visiting my oldest Son, Justin, and his family. Fun Times!!!
Justin & Myself: At the Park with the kids, in Brooklyn, NY |
A bit of a crazy mix from me this week as I jump around the genre. But, hang in there with me as I follow this theme. So, Let's Get This Party Started...
#1: Most think of this tune as a Christmas Song. What, cold weather and snow??? That's Christmas-y, I suppose. But, wait... Listen to the lyrics. Ha... From Frank Loesser, check out Baby, It's Cold Outside. Enjoy... (source)
#2: So, who doesn't remember this song & video??? In search of a "Seed Planter." Ha... Heart with All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You. Enjoy... (source)
#3: Ok... How about We've Got Tonight??? From Bob Seger. "Why don't you stay?" Enjoy... (source)
#4: Now, a little sassy country tune... Carrie Underwood with Last Name. Will her Mom be ashamed??? Enjoy... (source)
#5: So, I'll end this theme party with a nice little Rocker from Faces with Rod Stewart. Enjoy some Stay With Me... "In the morning, don't say you love me..." (source)
And there you have it. Hope you enjoyed as much as I did. Thanks again to Jen over at My Skewed View... Hop over and check out Mix Tape #21 and see what is going down.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see ya back on Happy Friday. Til then...
Be safe, be smart, and always Smile... It's Twisted Mix Tape Tuesday.
adios... vaya con dios
I chose Baby It's Cold Outside too! A great song indeed! Great minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteHa... I love it!!! Thanks & I appreciate you stopping by, Slu
DeleteJust look at those two handsome fellas in that pic. WHOA!!!! And Slu, those first three songs are serious love makin' tunes. It's off to the cold shower for me.
ReplyDeleteDebster... You are too kind. And... LOL. Thanks!!!
DeleteLove it when you stop by, Slu
Oh. My. God. Your first selection was GENIUS! How did I not even think of that one? It's like, the Original One Night Stand Song - never mind the fact that it was sung by dreamy Ricardo, years before his interest in fine Corinthian leather or islands of fantasy.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Slu!
Ha... Dude: I'm Smiling!!! Seriously, I'm smiling.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and it's great to be back, Slu
for a supposed sweet little perfect blonde country fembot, Carrie Underwood sure has a lot of cheatin' and runnin; around songs. she's on so many list.
ReplyDeletewe both used Stay With Me. It's wonderfully sleazy. Great work. here, sir.
My Man... Much appreciated. Glad you stopped by, Slu
DeleteGreat list and I'm not just saying that because I chose the Bob Seger and Heart song too (though I used Halestorm's version).
ReplyDeleteDreamer... Thanks!!! Looking forward to yours. Appreciate you stopping by, Slu
DeleteI know every one of these songs and love them ALL....especially Heart. They were my fave back in the day. Good choices, Slu!
ReplyDeleteThanks Double M... So glad you dropped in, Slu
DeleteOk seriously, Baby It's Cold Outside is genius. I think about that every time I hear that song. How seriously racy that sing was for its time. But those men, they never change do they? (Commenting from the line to see Journey btw)
ReplyDeleteAwesome list Slu, this is a fun theme :-)
Thanks Jen... I have always enjoyed that song. I truly hope Journey blows you away!!! Have fun, Slu
DeleteWell - it was cold outside. I would have totally stayed.
ReplyDeleteHa... Because you are 'Wicked Cool.' You know I love it when you stop by, Slu
DeleteSlu! You're awesome. I'd forgotten all about that song by Heart! At first, I thought it was the "Heart Breaker" one. Long ago, I adapted that one to be "You're a Lamp Breaker!" after um. Never mind. Bob Seger has to be one of my all time favorites forever. Great list!
ReplyDeletePS Great photo of you and your son!
Delete#1: Thanks!!! Cool stuff.
Delete#2: Very sweet of you.
Thanks for the visit, Slu
great list.
ReplyDeletenice 'cohesiveness' to your songs... know all the songs too!
..cept for the lead vid! amazing find, dude
Much appreciated My Man...
DeleteAnd Thanks as well... Looking forward to yours.
Glad you came over, Slu
Yes! Stay With Me... how many times have I heard this song and never thought about what it meant? (and I just learned something...here I thought this song was Rod Stewart...so I just looked it up and it is! Just not him solo, which I had always thought. Learn something new every day, as they say!)
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
Thanks... So glad you came for a visit. And yes, a good tune it is.
DeleteLooking forward to more, Slu
I never thought about Baby It's Cold Outside being that kind of song, but you totally pegged it. I think it's because back in the day, they cloaked that stuff in so much politeness. haha The Faces tune is terrific and it reminded me that Rod's Tonight's the Night would be perfect too.
ReplyDeleteYo Linda... Such a cool tune. There is a good Rod Stewart version as well. And yes, you're right.
DeleteGood to see you (on here), Slu
