It's Thursday night. It's approaching 9:00pm. This Blog is scheduled to be Published in the morning (that would be Happy Friday). And here I sit typing my first paragraph. Not from lack of motivation. Not from lack of a 'story.' I've actually got two or three in my head. But, I want more time to give them justice. Very simply, a lack of time over these last two weeks has led to this Post tonight. At this very moment, Donna is sitting patiently on the couch (she is not lonely, she does have all her electronic devices). She is waiting for me to come in there where she is so that we can watch tonight's episode of Big Brother together (recorded on the DVR). It's elimination night tonight. And more than likely, Helen is going home, because she is on the "block" this week, due to some underhanded, back-stabbing from "3AM." 3AM is an "Alliance" just created last week. And that's a shame, because Helen is seriously the best Game Player on the show right now. And yet tonight, she will be interviewed by Julie. And during the season, that is never a good thing, unless you are literally, the "Last Man" (or Girl) standing. Holy Smokes!!! I'm rambling about Big Brother for crying out loud. Elissa better win HOH or... I'm just sayin'. But, moving forward...
Last week, we were on vacation. We flew to New York. We took our grand-daughter, Riley. She had never been there, much less on a plane. Donna's oldest daughter, Lauren went as well. This week has been a whirlwind of activity. It being the last week before school starts (that would be Monday morning) and last minute details at work are, therefore, crazy. It was the final days of my contractor working on my house and I had meetings with him to get everything squared away. It was a week that I had workers (The Geek Squad) in my apartment in the evening, installing new things for me. It was a week that I have dealt with ordering new carpet for my house, the paperwork involved, meeting the "measure guy" at the house, and having to run back up to the store (twice due to computer error) to pay for the carpet after the paperwork had finally been completed in the computer system. Running to the Vet's office after work for more thyroid pills for Toby. Cooking for Donna (even though twice this week, cooking for Donna meant picking up the phone and ordering Chinese one night and Pizza on another). That should tell you that at least twice this week, I was too busy to cook (lol).
So, I titled this Blog Post "In The Mail???" After not posting anything last week while in New York, I have been so busy this week, that time has simply robbed me of a more "complete" Post. And yet, a Cardinal Sin would be to just "mail it in." So, I sit here at, now 9:20pm, "cranking" out a Post that appears to have everything but a "stamp on the envelope," in terms of "mailing it in." But, the more I type, I'm kinda, sorta, getting in to this Post. I'm liking it more and more. And I'm thinking to myself: Reach in to that "mailbox." Deep down. Grab that envelope. Get it out of that box and rip it into pieces. I can do this!!! Ooops... Donna is calling me. She's ready to watch Big Brother. I've made her wait long enough...
...Yep, it was Helen!!! She's outta there. She had the dreaded interview with Julie. It's 10:45pm. So, yeah, we went to New York. Check out some pics:

And those are but a few of the scenes that came from Brooklyn and New York. We had fun. Vacations never last long enough and yet, it's always so good to get back home. But, this time, home was a bit hectic. Too many "irons in the fire." I'm ready for Happy Friday and the weekend and Football.
Takin' it "To the House"

DeleteThanks for the visit, Slu
Busy, busy, busy..... hopefully you'll get to slow down a bit in the next couple of weeks. Looks like your vacation was a lot of fun and very interesting.
ReplyDeleteYES... Hope so... And it was. Lots of fun.
DeleteAppreciate the visit, Slu
You always get that sloth feeling after a brilliant holiday, so I understand how you might feel right now. Anyway, you managed to get a good blog post out and that's a good thing mate.
ReplyDeleteNow, what on earth is Mr Naked Cowboy doing? I think he needs some men in white coats to take him away for a while until he comes to his senses. I mean, can anyone roll up in underpants and guitar? If so, I'll be there next week in my hand-made see-through robe, ha ha ha.
Thanks RPD...
DeleteNaked Cowboy has been working Times Square for several years. I think his act is a little tired now. Ha...
Thanks for stopping by my Friend, Slu
I used to work a week in New York every month, and I miss it. Hope you had enough fun for all of us. Looks like you did.
ReplyDeleteKaren, we did. I can understand that you 'miss it.' It is so absolutely different from where we live. We really enjoyed Brooklyn: small, but really good restaurants & bars, shopping, etc., all up & down the sidewalk... just steps away from where we stayed. Times Square is just too much. But, like Brooklyn, we love the Villages.
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Slu

DeleteHope all is well Cuz, cuz
Great pics! Adorable grandchildren you have :) Sometimes I think everyone should carry a blindfold in their back pocket while walking thru NYC, cuz there's some stuff we just do not need to see (ie Naked Cowboy). LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks... And LOL. Too funny.
DeleteThanks for the visit, Slu
Hey--you deserve a great vacation and time off from blogging when you need it--we'll still be here because we love you, Slu! Those pics are priceless--your family is beautiful and oh my, that naked cowboy--he really is something else. Curious--does he make a lot of tips? Haha!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!! The NC has been around for several years. I'm guessing he does OK to still be out there every day for so many years.
DeleteAlways love your visits, Slu
