A 'Spanish Pause'

Hey Yo:

A 'Spanish Pause.'  That is Code for:  I took a BREAK.  There is a scene in the Jack Nicholson Movie, "Going South," in which his character tells his 'Bride' that he is going to take a 'Spanish Pause' to "pace himself."  See below:

)

See, that's the key.  I have been "pacing myself."  And yes, probably a little longer than originally intended.  My last published Blog was November 24th.  I was going to take a two week break.  And it kinda snowballed into almost 4 months!!!  Now, that's pacing one's self!!!

I wish I could say I have been really busy with this and that and just did not have the time to Blog.  But I would be dishonest.  Truth is, I've been lazy.  Following that two week break, when it came time to sit down and pick it back up, well, that's when I told myself:  "I think I'll take another week."  And another, and another, etc.  So lazy in fact, that I have not kept up with all the other Blog's of friends I had made in the Blogging Community since I started doing this.  And I miss their Blog's, their comments, and I miss YOUR comments each week.  The interaction, the laughs, and sometimes, a tear or two.  So, for those still on board after my Long Spanish Pause, here is what has been going on in Slu's World for the last few months...

...Thanksgiving was just Donna & I together, out of town, for a week.  Nice

...On December 16th, Grand-Baby #3 was finally born:  Malachi Lee Meraz  :-)

...Christmas was amazing as my Family (Motley Crew) is amazing & Loved

...I started to learn how to play the Guitar and then realized:

...I would need more time than I had, so now, I have a Summer Project

...I had a Birthday on January 14th. 58 Years Old now.  Yikes!!!

...Two weeks later, my youngest Son, Shane, turned 22 Years Old

...We took him to our favorite Casino for his first taste of "Chips & Spins"

...My oldest Son, Justin, advised us that Grand-Baby #4 was on the way  :-)

...After 4 years at our current location, Donna & I have decided to move

...We are looking forward to a Brand New Complex not far from here in June

...At the end of this Spring Break week, Donna's Son, Steven, is getting married

...At 37, his first wedding, to Kristen, on Sunday afternoon (Please No Rain)

...And yes, my Little Bride is in "Full Stress Mode" and, I think, slightly beyond

...That would be because she is pretty much arranging EVERYTHING

...And she is also Obsessed!!!  But, in a FUN way.  And it will be over Sunday

...And then, they (S&K) have advised us that Grand-Baby #5 is on the way  :-)

...Wow!!!  This Nana-Papa thing is really getting on the fast track now

...Grand-Baby #1, Munchkin, just turned 8 Years Old on the 1st

...And she is playing in a girls Softball League  1st Game coming up  :-)

...Grand-Baby #2, Little Man, just spent a week on an Island in Anguilla

...I found it on my Map:  It is literally a "Speck of Salt" on the Map

...Shane Graduates from Sam Houston State University on May 10th  :-)

...May 11th is Mother's Day:  Donna, Sambo, Courtney, Lauren (and Kristen)

...All 4 Mom's and one to be.  We will have a nice Celebration

...And just in case that, maybe you have forgotten, let me reiterate:

...I LOVE my Wife, Donna, even more than I ever have.  She's a Keeper

...There is something to be said about growing older with the one you love

...Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest, Blogger, Sports, News:

...Holy Smokes!!!  Is there ever enough time in a day???  Work, cooking, TV too

...Well, there will always be time for Lupe Tortilla on Happy Friday evenings  :-)

...And that would mean that tonight:  Friends, Fajitas, & Margaritas are on tap

That's about it from my perspective.  All is good in the land of Slu's World.  I have missed you guys.  My Spanish Pause is over...  well, at least for this week.

My parting Music...  In lieu of Spring Break, I think some Beach Boys are in order:  Wouldn't It Be Nice  Enjoy...

Thanks for stopping by.  Please know it is truly appreciated.  I hope to see you back for the next one whenever that may be.  That said...

Be safe, be smart, and always share your Smile.  It's Happy Friday...

vaya con dios

  6. Slu, You know what a procrastinator I am at getting back to commenting on blogs, but you were truly missed. I kept looking over at that sidebar wondering when your next Friday post would be up.
Holy Hannah. Congrats on so many things; the new grand babies, the new home (The garage had better be as spotless as your old one!), and your continuing love for that beautiful woman of yours. Never apologize on taking those "Spanish pauses". You were in the real world; living your real life. Nothing is as important. I better see your name though, on my sidebar next Friday :)
    Still smiling,
    MM

    1. Double M... So great to hear from you. Your comments always touch my heart and surely bring a smile. Thank you so much for the kind words.

The garage will be interesting. I will no longer have 3 separate "one car" garages as I do now. Instead, I will have just one "double long," not double wide. So, my storage garage will be gone, which means saying goodbye to some things. And I will have a challenge to make the new one "my space." lol

      You take care, Slu
