Week 22... Winners & Losers

Greetings:

This week, I have a couple of different things going on that I would like to share with you.  The first would fall under the "Winners" category and I am very excited about sharing this with you.  The second would absolutely fall under the "Losers" category and I am not so excited about sharing this with you although, most of you already know, but it is what it is...

Winner

First, I received notice last week from a friend in the "Blogging Community" that she had "Awarded" me with a Blogging Award.  This will be my 3rd Recognition Please look at the Left Hand Sidebar since starting this Blog just over 20 Weeks ago.  In all honesty, I take these awards very seriously and look upon them very proudly in that "someone" out there has visited Slu's World, read it a few times, and deems it "Worthy" of a particular Award.  I don't mind saying that it truly means a lot to me and I display them on the Sidebar to your left with great pride.

I love giving a "Shout Out" to my friend here, Marcia D, whose Blog is titled,
Menopausal Mother.  She is absolutely one of my "favorite" reads.  I refer to her as "Meno Mama" and I hope you will click on the link and give her Blog a try.  I appreciate very much that she chose me for "The Versatile Blogger Award."

The Award comes with a set of Rules to Follow...

1:  Add the Award to my Blog, Thank Your Award Person, and Link back to
     their Blog.

2:  List 7 random facts about myself (Yikes!!!)

3:  Pass the Award On to 7 other Bloggers.

4:  Inform each Nominee about the Award by posting on their Blog Site
     Comment Section.

OK:  7 Random Facts About Me...

1:  I love really cold milk.  With almost every meal and in-between too.

2:  I pretty much fold my "dirty" clothes to take up less space in the basket.

3:  I wake up at 4:00am Monday through Friday each week.  NUTS!!!

4:  I absolutely live with the "Woman" of my dreams.  She is my life.

5:  I wanted to name my son, Shane Ryan Sluder, "Sparky Joseph Sluder."

6:  The Godfather (1972) is still my favorite movie of all time.

7:  In the almost 14 years that Donna and I have been together, not once
have I ever seen her toe-nails without nail polish...  Always painted.
     Smiling!!!

That wasn't so bad.  And now, I need to nominate 7 worthy Bloggers that I feel deserve this Award as well.  They are all fantastic Bloggers that put the "time" in each week.  And they are...

Winners

1:  My Tribute To The Beatles  Brenda

2:  Mari's Notebook  Marisol

3:  Archistas  Maya

4:  My World of Colors and Thoughts  Epsita

5:  Recycle and Rubbish  Mika

6:  Transcending Borders  Tazein

7:  Spinoolean  John

There you have it.  My list of Bloggers that I pass on "The Versatile Blogger Award" to.  Congrats to you all.

Part 2

Losers

Last Sunday was Game Day, Baby...  For the first time in their 10 year history, the Houston Texans, along with the "storied" Green Bay Packers, were the showcase for Sunday Night Football on NBC.  As soon as the schedule came out, this was THE game on the 16 game schedule that ranked #1 for the regular season for Texans fans.  There was so much hype.  And, the Texans had a 5 & 0 record coming into the game, whereas the Packers were 2 & 3.  Some of the kids came over to watch the game with us...

Stephen & Lauren:  Pumped and Ready!!!

John, Sami, & Munchkin:  Pumped & Ready!!!
Link Sausage, Boiled Shrimp, Baked Potatoes, Avocado & Tomato Salad, & the Trimmings (Even Libations!!!)

Steven, as you can see, was very excited...  and hungry too.
I had long ago sold my tickets to the game because they were at such a premium this year, being that this year is a "LOCK" on the Texans getting back to the playoffs.  The Texans were favorites to win the game by all the experts.  There was all the "Pre-Game" stuff:

We were "Ready for some Football."

Al got us warmed up...

And when Faith Hill sings, it's Game Time!!!

But, before the game even started, QB Matt Schaub looked as if he knew something was up...
And then, the game started.  And then, well, it was not pretty!!!  Unless you were a Packers fan...  It went South really fast!!!  So, we decided to break out the dessert:

I made Chocolate Pie for the occasion...
And although it did not hold its shape, Lauren did give it the "Thumbs Up" for flavor.
In the end, the Texans got "SMOKED" by the Packers to the tune of 42 to 24!!!  So, yes, we suffered our first loss of the season and fell to 5 & 1.  This Sunday, we get the Baltimore Ravens here at home in Reliant Stadium.  They are 5 & 1 as well.  Are you ready for some football???  I am.  Can't wait...

Market Watch:  Another down week for Facebook, as it slipped below 19 and closed yesterday at 18.98...  Wow!!!

The EndWeek 22 is in the books and I want to say Thank You very much for stopping by.  Also, Thanks again to "Meno Mama" for the Award this week.  I'm elated.  Check back next week.  Til then...

Be safe, be smart, and always smile...  It's "Happy Friday"

adios
