Back from Vacation... Sincere apologies if I did not make it to your Mix Tape last week. Crazy vacation schedule combined with House Remodeling. That said, this week, the 90's are in the 'rear-view mirror.' We are in the 2000 era. As usual, Jen is our "Hostess with the Mostess" and you can check out ALL the other participants over at her site: My Skewed View... Her Co-Host is Kristi over @ Finding Ninee... Hoping you will click on their Links to hear some really diverse music.
The 00's for me were all about 'mellowing' a bit. I was reading this week about a lot of 'anger' music from the 90's that is, as one example, motivational for working out. Heck, maybe I should listen to more anger music and maybe that would motivate me to 'get going' again at the gym. Ha... My 'mellowing' included more Smooth Jazz into my mix. There is nothing more relaxing than my Sunday morning coffee while listening to some good Smooth Jazz on my Pandora with my 'Little Bride." And that's the beauty of my Pandora... Red Hot Chili Peppers one minute and Rick Braun the next. So, give it a chance. That said, "Let's get this Party started."
#1: Released in 2000, Coldplay with Yellow. Enjoy... (source)
#2: Released in 2002, right back again with Coldplay and another one I like a lot. Clocks. Enjoy... (source)
#3: Released in 2005, Green Day with a fave... Wake Me Up When September Ends. Enjoy... (source)
#4: Changing it up a bit here... Give my Smooth Jazz a chance: Released in 2007, one of my favorite Bands, Down To The Bone with Brooklyn Heights. Enjoy... (source)
#5: If you like this kind of music, you just cannot beat the slow, romantic sound of Chris Botti. Released in 2003, this is one of my fave's... The Look Of Love. Enjoy... (source)
There you have it... I hope you enjoyed. Remember to stop by Jen's over @ My Skewed View... for Mix Tape 18 and some awesome other choices. Hope to see ya back on Happy Friday. Til then...
Be safe, be smart, and always Smile... It's "Twisted Mix Tape Tuesday"

'cellent Green Day pick!.
ReplyDeletefor me...the 00s were surely a time of simplicity and accessibility in the music and such.
Thanks My Man... Agreed. Appreciate you stopping by, Slu
DeleteOOooohhhh Chris Botti. Now that is some love makin' music right there!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDebster... BINGO!!! Thank You.
DeleteThanks for dropping by, Slu
OK, in all fairness, you should at least put a warning that for Down To The Bone, the song proper doesn't even start until a full minute in!
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I dug it. Very acid jazzy, very smooth. Had me looking for a martini...
TP... lol!!! I came so close to doing just that. We're on the same page there. So glad you liked it. They have some really great tunes.
DeleteThanks for stopping by, Slu
"Yellow" and "Wake Me Up When September Ends". Absotively. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda... Welcome back!!! Appreciate the visit, Slu
DeleteInteresting picks this week Slu. You managed to surprise me, which is weird because I spend most of my life thinking I have everyone figured out. Good job. :) Thank you for posting.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Trace
Now, you know I'm truly smiling!!! Seriously!!!
DeleteYou are so welcome & you know I love it when you stop by, Slu
Love these Jazz picks! That's one realm of music of which I've always been a bit neglectful. Thanks for the exposure!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you!!! So glad you enjoyed them. Really good stuff out there.
DeleteThanks for dropping by, Slu
I LOVE Coldplay and Greenday. LOVE. Not familiar with your jazz choices but I enjoyed them as well. Good luck with the house remodeling thing - we did a total gut when we bought this place almost 5 years ago and I still find stuff that I want to change. Sigh. Dusty, messy and oh so worth it when it's done! Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked!!! I love listening to the smooth jazz choices these days.
DeleteRemodeling to sell... Hope it helps.
Thanks, Slu
Ta DA!!! Yea for Slu! You know maybe I'm just old, but after the 80's music stopped doing if for me unless it was spectacular. I love Jazz, I love the swingers, the crooners love the good old music. And when there seemed to be a void of any real talent, I just couldn't keep looking so hard.
ReplyDeleteJen... I'm Smiling!!! Thanks.
DeleteAppreciate you stopping by, Slu
I really like that tune... Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteAppreciate you stopping by, Slu
HUGE fan of Cold Play--good choice, Slu!
