A Few Memories...

Hey Yo:

So, yes, Donna & I CLOSED on the Sale of our House last "Happy" Friday afternoon.  It is done.  RELIEF!!!  SMILING!!!

I had planned to do a "Memories in Pictures" in this space, but I have changed my mind and am just going to shoot off some 'One Liners' regarding some memories while we were there for our 10 years.

...We moved in on Halloween Weekend, 2001

...For Donna & I, this was our very first house together, in our mid 40's

...On a nice little cul-de-sac with just 6 houses

...Our next door neighbor was named Steve

...Our neighbor across the street was named Steve

...I introduced myself to them:  "Hi, my name is Steve"

...Sami (AKA Sambo) lived with us, she was 13

...Sambo, now living in a house:  She wanted a dog

...And along came Petey, a little male Rat Terrior

...That 1st night, Petey brought lots of tears, and then, smiles

...I thought Petey should have a partner, a runnin' buddy

...And along came Penny, a little female Rat Terrior

...And then, I decided I wanted a big dog, a manly dog, if you will

...And along came Jordy, an adopted, ex-racing, Greyhound

...And then I asked Donna if she wanted a dog she could call her own

...And along came Toby (the Tobester), a little Maltese

...Three tee-tiny dogs and a really big dog:  a bit of a challenge

...Along the way, too many dogs in the house meant the carpet had to go

...No carpet for several months meant living with the 'Industrial Look' (concrete)

...Throughout all of the above, Sami became pregnant in her late teens

...And along came Riley Renee, AKA Munchkin, Peanut Butter, and/or Bug

...And then, well, things got really interesting

...Two Adults, a New Mommy, a Baby, 4 Dogs, & Shane (every other weekend)

...Did I mention:  All this in just a 3 bedroom house

...Along the way, Lauren & Stephen moved in

...And moved out, and then moved back in, and moved back out

...Along the way, Scooter moved in

...And moved out, and then moved back in, and moved back out

...My New Patio Deck was built underneath my New 27' X 14' Patio Cover

...Which led to one of my favorite spots on the patio:  Hummingbird Corner

Man, from this point of view, it looks like my yard needs mowing again!!!

...Laminate Flooring:  No more 'Industrial Look'

...Did I mention a Growing Baby and 4 Dogs (inside the house, no less)

...Lots of mowing, edging, weed-eating, and blowing (the beginning of the end)

...Shane and I built a 10' X 10' Shed that came in a Box (yikes!!!)

...Ohhhhhhh, the parties through the years:  :-)

...Sami and Riley moved out (Big Girls that they were at that point)

...And then, one day, Donna & I moved out

...And then, Renters moved in, and then moved out

...And then, more Renters moved in, and then moved out

...And then, another Renter moved in, and then moved out

...And then:  Lots and Lots of Repairs & Updating = $$$

...And then, last weekend, NEW OWNERS moved in (On Halloween Weekend)

...Donna designated last weekend as 'Celebration Weekend' and yes, it was

...NO MORE PROPERTY TAXES!!!  Can you feel my Smile???

...And then, $$$ hit our Bank Account on Monday = SMILING!!!  &  RELIEF!!!

Takin' it "To The House"
no pun intended

Houston Texans Football:  It's official...  The wheels have fallen off!!!

Market Watch:  Well, after a loss of 152 for the day, the Dow still was sitting at 15,593 at the close yesterday.  But, Facebook is heading South over the last couple of weeks, closing at 47.56 yesterday.

Music:  This one is for my "Little Bride", Donna...  She loves Frank!!!  So, enjoy some Frank Sinatra singing one of his anthems:  My Way.  (source)

The End:  Thanks for stopping by this week.  Always appreciated.  Hope to see you back next week.  Til then...

Be safe, be smart, and always show your Smile...  It's Happy Friday

adios...  vaya con dios

  6. All good things must come to an end but then there are greater things to be explored. That old place will have lots of memories but now you've left it for someone else to enjoy. Hope you took lots of pictures to show the great great grandchildren. Something to tell them about at bedtime.
Enjoy the new beginnings in your life and I wish you both the best.
