Random Time...

Greetings:

Just some quick Random Thoughts this week on a few things in Slu's World:

What I'm Thinking

In One Day...  There are 24 Hours in One Day...  There are 1,440 Minutes in 24 Hours...  And, there are 86,400 Seconds in 1,440 Minutes...  It seems as though there is just NEVER enough time to do everything you either need to get done or want to get done in a (1) day.  How many times have you said:  "There is just not enough time in the day."  Well, I'm thinking I need more time.  Or, maybe I just need to manage my time a little better.  Nope!!!  I need more time.  That's all there is to it.

Wednesday was September 11th...  My hope is that "We will never forget."

Through two weeks of College Football and one week of NFL Football, I have 6 wins and 1 loss on my Wagering (one of my passions) with my Sports Book.  I have come within a tee-tiny scosche of doubling my money.  Gotta love it.  Someone told me a few days ago:  Today, you have it...  Tomorrow, they (the book) will have it.  Maybe probably, but I love it anyway.

This morning (that would be Friday), Donna and I are meeting with a Real Estate Agent at our house.  All of our remodeling is done.  The new carpet was installed yesterday in the bedrooms.  And today, we will agree on a price and list the house For Sale.  Lots of memories in that house...  Could be an upcoming Blog Post.  Just sayin'.

As much as I like Summer and warm weather, I am so looking forward to Fall and cooler temperatures (not that we have a true Fall in Texas, but hey).  50's and 60's is pretty awesome.  But then, Summer will not get here quick enough when Fall and Winter kick in (although, we never have much of a Winter).

Speaking of Fall...  Football is back and being the Football "Freak-a-Zoid" that I am, I am in Heaven, so to speak.

Grand-Baby #3 is on the way and should arrive in approximately 12 to 13 weeks.  And, it's going to be the 2nd boy in the 'G-B' mix.  Munchkin is suddenly losing the 'Gender' race.  I was Skyping with the other G-B boy, George, a few days ago and at the end, while saying our goodbye's, he leaned over, all the way from Brooklyn, NY, and gave his Papa a goodnight kiss (by kissing the tablet screen).  Speaking of 'Gotta love it.'

A few weeks ago, all the news regarding a possible fight/war with Syria led to promises of much higher gas prices around the corner.  And since that time, our 'Gas Dude' gas station has lowered their prices at least once per week.  Prices are absolutely heading South.  $3.21 per gallon here in our area as of last night.

Blogging is addicting, and certainly fun.  But, meeting new friends from all over the World and communicating with them each week (the Comments Section) and reading their Blog's each week is truly something Special.  (Note to Self:  "There is just not enough time in the day.")

American Idol with J-Lo, Harry Connick, Jr., and Keith Urban just might be worth watching again.  Skipped it this past season.

Speaking of TV, my youngest son, Shane, says emphatically that I should be watching 'Sons of Anarchy.'  Thinking of starting back at Season 1, Episode 1, on Netflix.  Season 6 started earlier this week.  Could be a 'time' issue though.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!  You know, because there is never enough of it.

Have not been in the kitchen on a regular basis lately...  I need to re-introduce myself to the thrill of cooking and hearing Donna say (when I nail one):  "We could serve this to company," which usually led to my reply:  "That's what I was shooting for."  Truly fun times in the kitchen.

Is there anything more awesome than a computer???  Is there anything more absolutely aggravating than a computer???

Is there anything more awesome than pulling the covers back on your bed at night and crawling into bed???  Is there anything more absolutely aggravating than hearing the alarm sound the next morning and you are very clearly not ready to get up???

Music...  music is such a powerful and emotional influence.  Its 'hold' on us is, quite simply, amazing.

No doubt about it...  I've said it before and I'll say it again:  It is tough to beat a really cold glass of milk!!!

Just a few of my thoughts this week.  Again, I reiterate:  "Never Forget."

Takin' it "To the House"

Music:  In Honor of September 11th, please allow me to select a tune that is so powerful, and yet so very beautiful.  From Celtic WomanAmazing Grace.
Enjoy...  (source)

Houston Texans Football:  Wow!!!  Over at 12:45am Tuesday morning, the Texans kicked a Field Goal with 4 seconds remaining in the game, lifting them to a thrilling 31 to 28 win.  The Texans scored the final 24 points, coming from behind, down 28 to 7.  Again, Wow!!!  This week, at home against the Titans.

Market Watch:   The "Rich get Richer."  Another week of 'Heading North.'  The Dow closed yesterday at 15,300, up from last week.  Facebook Leaped upward, closing yesterday at 44.75...  Holy Smokes!!!

The End:  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.  Always greatly appreciated.  Have a great weekend.  Hope to see ya back on Mix Tape Tuesday.  Til then...

Be safe, be smart, and always show your Smile...  It's "Happy Friday"

adios...  vaya con dios

It's a shame to do all that work, never experience it, and sell it off (I hope!!!). But, we love living in our Apartment. Enjoy your games today, as well as the Fall weather.

  4. Katelyn made the comment that MNF turned into TMF after watching the entire game with that exciting second half. She didn't crash from the excitement until middle of her second class. Had to come home early to nap.

  6. I too wonder where times goes. The best thing we can do is take of the most important things each day and work down from there, everything else will fall in place or isn't that important to start out with. Congrats on another baby. They are so much fun. Cuz

  7. If I had a magic wand and granted you 50 hrs in a day, you'd still want more. So I say, maybe you're packing too much into your 24 hrs. Maybe you need to kick a few things out and relax in between. Ah, I've found the answer Slu. Maybe miss some football, ha ha ha. I can just imagine your face right now.

As for summer, I think ours has flown her nest. It's was freezing yesterday, very warm today with pelting rain. Winter is awaking mate, and that's when I wish there was much less than 24 hrs in a day. I need to seriously dig up that coat.
    Enjoy your weekend mate.

Another grandchild? Look how time flys, and congrats :)

  11. hey! great Post...

...kinda got the answer on your 'not enough time' thing... probably not gonna like it! two words: old people driving cars and making a right turn.
there's more to it than that, but: yes I do refer to that possibility and no! there *is* something that you can do about it... (hopefully).

have a good time...hope that the contestants that you favor retain control of the desired object to such a degree as to be recognized as being vastly superior over those other jamokes
