It's Twisted Mix Tape Tuesday (70's - Part 2)

Hey Yo:

So, this week, we are back in the 70's, playing Part 2, in our Tour of The Decades.  This was a tough list to make because there are just so many good tunes to select from.  It's supposed to be a list of 5...  I haven't been able to stop at 5 yet, which means I may be headed for D-Hall.  I just can't help myself.  BUT...  Say it with me:  "No More Disco, No More Disco, No More Disco!!!"

Thanks to Jen over @ My Skewed View... for being the "Hostess with the Mostess" for these Mix Tape sessions.  Her Co-Host is Kristi over @ Finding Ninee...  Please click on their Links and check out what ALL the other participants have on their list's.  M-E-M-O-R-I-E-S!!!  Let's get this party started.

#1:  First up this week is my Elton John song of choice.  From 1971, I always liked this tune.  Madman Across The Water.  Enjoy...  (source)

#2:  Next up is my personal favorite Rolling Stones tune.  Also from 1971, on the Sticky Fingers Album, Can't You Hear Me Knocking.  Enjoy...  (source)

#3:  I love this next tune.  I love the "sound" of this one.  David Bowie, from 1972, with Suffragette City.  Enjoy...  (source

#4:  One of my favorite Bands, from the Houston area no less, ZZ Top, with one of my favorite tunes from them.  The Album, Fandango, was released in 1975, as I was graduating from the Houston Fire Department Training Academy.  Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings.  Enjoy...  (source)

#5:  When I bought the Album for this next tune from Heart, I instantly fell in love with this particular song.  From 1978, on the Dog & Butterfly Album, Mistral WindEnjoy every bit of this Live Performance...  (source)

#6:  Also from 1978, another little gem that caught my ear from the debut of Van Halen, on their self titled Album, Little Dreamer.  "Dreamer," this one's for you!!!  Enjoy...  (source)

#7:  And finally, for me, my "Walk Off Home Run."  The very first time I heard the 49 second "intro" to this next tune, I was HOOKED!!!  From 1972, Foghat with their I Just Want to Make Love to You.  Enjoy...  (source)

And that's my list...  I hope it was as much fun for you as it was for me.  Don't forget to head over to Jen's (our Host) at My Skewed View...  to have a listen to all the Mix Tape's.

Thanks for stopping by and having a listen.  Hope to see ya back on Happy Friday.  Til then...

Be safe, be smart, and always Smile...  It's "Twisted Mix Tape Tuesday"

  5. Foghat, you sly dog. Nice choice. Elton is so hard to choose, Madman was always one of my favorites. Also nice pick for the Stones, I could always take them or leave them. A few songs I can still listen to, most of their catalog I can forget fairly easily. Enjoyable list. And thanks for the sidebar. Much appreciated. kat

  6. Good call on Bowie! I so often forget that he was actually a part of the 70's - it almost seems as if he should have an entire decade all to himself.
